i was slipping in peoples blood

lies propaganda doublespeak

what if

stay safe

“In an ever-changing, incomprehensible world the masses had reached the point where they would, at the same time, believe everything and nothing, think that everything was possible and that nothing was true. ... Mass propaganda discovered that its audience was ready at all times to believe the worst, no matter how absurd, and did not particularly object to being deceived because it held every statement to be a lie anyhow. The totalitarian mass leaders based their propaganda on the correct psychological assumption that, under such conditions, one could make people believe the most fantastic statements one day, and trust that if the next day they were given irrefutable proof of their falsehood, they would take refuge in cynicism; instead of deserting the leaders who had lied to them, they would protest that they had known all along that the statement was a lie and would admire the leaders for their superior tactical cleverness.”

“The ideal subject of totalitarian rule is not the convinced Nazi or the convinced Communist, but people for whom the distinction between fact and fiction (i.e., the reality of experience) and the distinction between true and false (i.e., the standards of thought) no longer exist.”
― Hannah Arendt, The Origins of Totalitarianism

It's a scary world out there.  I like the sense of determination I feel from this track.  Music for fighting the good fight!

100% true talk and 100% good music. big hug.

I really like the "snare on all of the downbeats" fills -- it's so simple and goes so hard! Also really like how non-subtle your voice is even when you're singing subtly -- heard this at work in a playlist and instantly knew it was emily. smile

(Will be back to talk about links a little later (mad month for me) -- but the What if link is brilliant and flawless in execution.)

i'm feeling this, too.. sounds like a battlecry, track's a massive stomper! but with a delicate grace echoing throughout all the background whispery presences which draw me in for a closer listen/feel heart

Really strong tech vibe to the primary rhythmic drive. Cool ambient affects to pad it all out.

I like the determined vibe with the dignified ornamentation and of course your dreamy vocals. kind of cinematic, if I may. the hypnotic bass is really cool, sort of 90s in a nice way. I like all the liquidy stuff going on in the left channel too.

hope work chills a bit for you soon - that 'what if' made me so happy cause i see that dissonance in my minds eye - it was cool to see it on screen - they really edited that brilliantly! the vocals were not what i was hearing in my head but what came out still not sure about them...

press on!

I relate very much with the description you wrote and the horrors of a word where fact and fiction become so mixed. And as I work in the AI technology domain, I am both excited by the new technologies that we have been able to make but also horrified at the misuses of AI in generating propaganda, in making false videos, faking audios, and more generally in making any source of information very doubtful. We are starting to enter a world where there is no obvious source of truth anymore and where it's the loudest voice in youtube who wins over, and where different niches of cultist tribes create their own reality. It does not feel like this story has a good end.

What I like in this track is the KFMDM like martial beat, as if we're led to a dark future, while the vocal and piano fly above this dark landscape.

I agree with Kedbreak136.  It has an Industrial feel to it (ala KMFDM) with the pulsing kick drum and synth line.  That harpy bell sound theme lets ya know we are in fact PUSHING ON!
