This Too Shall Pass

This week was about challenging myself to learn more about Logic Pro X. I have always just recorded, and if it sounds good, it sounds good. The possibilities are endless in Logic. After jamming with my buddy Foo two weeks ago, I realized there is so much to learn. This week I practiced utilizing stereo spread, dialing in EQ for all instruments and vocals, and learning the world of plug ins.

The music created this week felt very emotionally driven. Therefore, I felt the lyrics needed to be along the same lines. I had been going through a lot mentally after sustaining a pretty bad physical injury in August of 2019. Life is short. Live it up. Enjoy.

Dude. This sounds like something off one of those Atticus records you'd get at Warped Tour back in 2005. Glad you went with the vox. Gives the song character and the melody is pleasant to my hearing devices.

Damn man that was straight up impressive.  Love the full band sound.  The production on this is great.  I could sit here and pick out the parts that I liked but it'd end up being damn near the whole song.  Really great job on this, must have been quite a bit of work for a week!

Damn dude, this is awesome!  So many different parts and instrumentation change ups.  Very cool man, awesome that something this complex came together in a week.

pretty impressive to get all this done in a whole week.  im going to have to give this a few more listens on my commute to disect the lyrics more, but from a two time listen, i know these lyrics are heavy, and im glad we got a chance to hear them on WB

Get the feels of playing Amped 3. This is awesome, love the guitar tone.

Still feel like I can dial in the vocals a bit more. From a performance and mixing standpoint but thats why I need to keep doing this.

Thanks Matt! I am very happy with how it came out. This whole WBs thing is great exercise for writing, mixing, performing, etc.  It feels good to be doing all of this again, but Sunday comes quick for sure. Im sure Ill follow this up with some speedtrash solely based on exhaustion haha.

I dont think that was my intention, but its hard for me to write for "fun." I feel like every time I write, it has to be with a purpose. I want to try and step outside of comfort zone. Maybe not necessarily Turkey Leg, but somewhere in between. Haha.

Haha. Thanks man! I'd take it as a compliment if I was on the Cool Boarders 2 soundtrack.

man I feel this so much.  I can't just write, I have to have a specific topic in mind and a lot of times that topic seems to be the same 'ol thing.

100%. Thats why I like this process. I feel most times, I ponder lyrical content WAY TOO MUCH. If I'm forced to write a song in a week, I cant dwell that long. Most popular songs on the radio arent trying to change you life. Its just to make you move. I want to try and tap into that this year.

That's a really good sentiment that I haven't thought much about.  Good insight, man.

hell yeah! killing it! full band mix sounds pretty damn awesome. the song itself rocks, kinda reminds me of Say Anything

Damn that's amazing, such an emotional vibe and great performance overall.

Thanks Devieus!

Just discovered you this week, really like what you do. Great rock song. Acoustic, electric guitars sounds great.
