Stalactite

By Saguaro Gigante on November 27, 2022 11:59 pm

Struggled all day to come up with something! Just wasn't really inspired for whatever reason. I came up with a little idea using some ambient guitar effects that I liked and then it eventually turned into a loft/trip hop thing. I could hear some cool lead ideas but I wasn't really able to pull it off today so I just tried to keep the solo simple. I think this idea has potential to be developed further later.

This is cool! Are you still using built in logic guitar sounds? Seems like you've really gotten it dialed in. Sounds spacious and tasty. Keep it up!

Hell yeah those are some really tasty chords. Super evocative. Nice change of pace for you too exploring an ambient/trip-hop vibe. This is a type of sound you should dive a bit deeper into, maybe even start integrating that kind of ambient guitar tone and electronic beats into your overall oeuvre.

While not pushing any envelope, it's definitely pushing all bad feelings away.

Yeah! Still using the amp sims in logic. I have thought about trying some other plug-ins but I've been finding the ones that come included really useable so far. I might try using some of my distortion pedals straight into the amp sims because I've seen people get some cool tones that way. But then I would have to commit to a sound ahead of time! Which I suppose isn't that big of a deal since I seem to use the same handful of sounds with minor changes each time.

Thanks man! Yeah I was definitely hurting for ideas that day but ended up finding that vibe eventually. It's not my normal thing but I did enjoy it and probably will mess around with that some more. I wish I had found this idea much earlier in the week but eh at least I found something eventually!
