Rockslide

By Saguaro Gigante on April 25, 2022 12:01 am

I usually try to start working on something early in the week but this was one was busy. Wasn't really quite sure what to try until Saturday afternoon when I decided to pick up some old ideas that never got finished. Ended up with some new parts andI was pretty happy with how it turned out. I ended up not having as much time to mess with the mixing and other small details and I kept most of my initial takes so this one feels a little more raw to me but I like it.

very pretty. love the guitar tones.. ooh and the suspended harmonies in the middle. very nice smile

Love those cleans chord on the guitar on the intro, the 6-8 time signature is fun on the intro. shift to more straight forward 4-4 works great.

This track feels like there are multiple ideas and could be more than one piece. There is good stuff in.

That solo in the middle hits hard. Came out of nowhere and slapped me in the face. Then it took a shit in my bed.

And that build up and then breakdown. So quality. Such listening. Wow. Great work.

Cool that you jumped in and got started despite missing the first ten weeks. I’m enjoying this as I’m listening, the first part somehow brings to mind Sunny Day Real Estate’s How It Feels To Be Something On. So many movements, quite an epic this one.

The overdriven guitar tone is smooth. I like also the bass, it does not take over the track but leads it nicely. The guitar solos are taaaasty!

Pretty epic. I could listen to this for a while.

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. This one was a combination of some old ideas I’ve had for a while but the ending section was new.

Thanks, glad you liked it! I’d never heard of Sunny Day Real Estate before but I looked them up and definitely liked what I heard. Thanks for the recommendation!

I’m glad you liked the bass. I wasn’t sure if it was too much or not, but I like being able to really hear the bass in a mix. And thanks!
