Journey To Avalon

By Saguaro Gigante on March 24, 2024 11:43 pm

Did another track with virtual instruments, but experimented with some sampled strings and more pianos this time in combination with more artificial sounding synths. At one point it feels a bit doom metal, at another point a bit black metal, and then it gets into more of a rock groove at the end. Not entirely sure what I was going for but I like how it turned out. Still learning how to mix virtual instruments together. It seems a bit more involved getting the levels and compression right, but it's something to work towards!

Really dig this one. It's really engaging and I thought it had excellent pacing. Got hooked in right away. The keysweeps along with those euro-sound stabs at the end killed.

Oh man, I'm super into the flute when that rolls in. It feels super celtic and like we're in a fantasy setting. The movements in this are pretty rad too, that first big transition about minute in where we get the drums and the darker piano with the glitchy sounds (Of which, all of this gives me heavy Ulver vibes). This is really cool because I feel like we're starting to see that merger of your electronic explorations with the other metal influences I recognize in you (even with the absence of guitars in this track).

Loving the mix of this! The build up is great, and I really enjoy piano and string section at 1:30 ish. Then the drums go crazy but with them so low in the mix its perfect, not too in your face. I dig it all!

Nice wide mix.

I like the blend of more electronic vs more organic sounds.

THe different sections and new sounds keeps the track interesting. Well done.

I really liked the Dungeon Synth style opening and maybe it is because how my brain is wired but some of the drums sounded quite industrial.  Was a great listen

Nice journey you go on here! Digging the synths, wow those drums toward the end, with the double bass, massive.

Love those deep dark piano tones introduced early on.  So many cool accents on the drums and those synth arp rolls.  Gave me some 90s industrial vibes with that dark sinister sound.  Really cool track.

I like this one. The Celtic feel at the beginning is cool, and really ends up in a different place without feeling disjointed. Plus I just used it to practice some guitar soloing. haha.

Damn, this is cool. Didn't see that double kick coming and then the drums pummel! Builds in a really cool way. Great work

Journey is right. Cool!
