Ghost in the Thorns

By Saguaro Gigante on February 25, 2024 11:46 pm

This was an interesting project for me. I really had no ideas for quite a while and had to force myself to sit down and start writing. Somehow little by little more parts started to form and after a while I feel like the song really started coming together. This also became one of my most ambitious projects this year tracks wise. Normally I don't use many different tracks but I wanted different guitar sounds for the various sections. Mixing this one was a bit trickier because there was so much stuff, but I think it came out ok. Will have to keep working on that but I think I learned some new things so I'd call that a success!

WOW! So polished! The double time at 2:50-ish caught me off guard in the best way! Fantastic track, great effort!!!

Those solo guitars tones are very nice to me. Nice riffs too.

And there are a couple changes of pace as well in that track! Solid.

A success it is.

I love how prominent the bass is in the mix, but pretty much everything is on point (I just love a nice crisp bass tone!) The first portion of the song feels like a throwback to one of your other tunes but I can't remember the name of it. That bit at 50 or so second in is what signals it for me. I dig that riff at 2:15 soooo much. Love how you transition into the heavier stuff at 2:54 and then tear it up with the shred.

Really good guitar work obviously. I really like the mix here - i always struggle with mixing live instruments and especially guitars so this is a great reference. It sits well in the mix, not stepping on other instruments toes. Inspired plays and beautiful melodies and riffs.

I like the way you connected the riffs in this tune. Drum sound is clear and impactful. IMO the cymbals could come down a hair to leave room for more brightness out of the guitars, to put them up front more. Minor quibble. Nice job!

the production of this sounds great! Still a god at the guitar so good stuff there! Awesome song man!

this doesn't sound forced at all!  great job
