Dance of the Chupacabra

By Saguaro Gigante on February 18, 2024 11:50 pm

Wasn't sure I was going to get a song this week! Was really busy and so I wasn't able to start until today. Luckily I found an idea that I had started a while back and was able to use that as a starting point. Was really working until the end just to get everything tracked so I had to just throw the bass and lead guitars in to get it finished but I am happy with how it turned out!

Immediately I noticed the bass is very very bassy... So woops!

Damn dude, you continue to impress with the production on these songs. Everything just sounds like it fits neatly in its place. I don't think the bass sounds too bassy, at least on my monitors, it actually feels very audible but still grounded beneath the sound of the guitars. I like really bluesy chords you're rocking around 0:40 in context with the overall metal tonality. I also dig that variation on the main verse riff around 2:50. 3:30 is particularly tasty because I love the sound and movement of the bass under the solo.

Nice! I love the kinda 90's cartoony kinda sound with the guitars. Then straight into a sick prog riff and solo. Lots of cool guitar work on this.

Delays on the guitar accent the lead and fill the space wonderfully. Nothing wrong with the bass IMO. It's hard for me to understand how you pull something like this out in a day. Really impressive.

Glad you managed to get one in!

Man, I always tried to name my sports teams "The Chupacabras" growing up, but nobody ever went for it. I envy your guitar skills. I really like that first riff when the lead part drops down an octave. Nice job, bro.

the bass isn't too bassy for me imo

incredible job particularly for coming down to the wire!
