you're only given enough to kill your dreams

I welcome all critical feedback. Can relicense if needed, just ask.

Bona fide synthwave this time. 125 BPM, A-minor. Back to my beloved Analog Rytm with its hybrid TR-707 kit. Iridium provides the main arp and the sync solo at the end. FM bass by Opsix. Vocals harmonized with the Ableton Live vocoder.

"you're only given enough to kill your dreams" is pretty profound. I don't have anything too critical to say, maybe I wish it was longer and had more of a build-up but I know a lot of that probably has to do with the weekly deadline. I loved when the vocals came in, but I wish that's where the track would really soar for a few more minutes with those vocals repeating longer. Great stuff!

Great drum fills, my favorite part is the second like of the vocals, such a great progression and vocal melody, wow. Excellently mixed as always and such a wide soundstage with panned toms. Killer

I mean this in the best possible way with all the love in the world: this is such a tease. I get all the drum fills, all those strained perfect vocal harmonies, those little bits of sparkle, just enough to really want more and to see where it's gonna go and then it's over too soon! You should absolutely work this into a full ~4-5 min synthwave track there's gold and jewels and treats here.

Also minor critique: more reverb on those toms and snares, more sizzle!

yes plz!  ^^

this is fantastic and i dig those vocals a LOT

WHOA the robo vocals were tight

i'd like to hear a version with a live drummer

yes, agreed with the rest, too short!

Vocals are so cooool, definitely left me wanting more. The section around 1:45 with the lead and drum fills is awesome. Love the overall feeling and trajectory of the track, way to go!

damn this is yuge

This is soooo good.  Really liking that warm bass that your melody rides on and the snare rim-click/hi-hat groove setting up those killer vocals. Definitely got that analog charm throughout.  Give us more...

but i want rplktr to keep the dream alive - this is beautiful

OK, OK, I hear ya! (but this week I went elsewhere)

Thank you so much for the encouragement. Part of the duration is just that this is how much time I had in the week to make the track. It was a focused early submission on Tuesday because I wasn't home for the rest of the week. And the vocals were literally added last minute when I came up with the lyric. Maybe that extra deadline caused the sparkles. I wished all tracks came so naturally.

Phenomenal work, everything sounds so nice.

Heavy lyrics yikes Mix sounds amazing - really like the arps and how they're modulated. Those trusty 707 drums are tight, the tom fills especially sound great. The vocals caught me off guard but they're rad. Nice lead there at the end too
