Out of Time on Okinawa

not to be overly dramatic

I welcome all critical feedback. Can relicense if needed, just ask.

162 BPM 4/4, C-minor. Made in Japan on Dirtywave M8. Got somewhat more comfortable with it. Overdubs: Iridium pad, D-05 shakuhachi.

Love the futuristic feel to this track! The shakuhachi fits really well. Also that FMish arpeggio sound is super cool!

Very retrofuturistic and synthwavy stuff. Loving the playful arpeggio at around 1:00. Beautiful piece, indeed. The second half of the track is quite uplifting.

Great work!!!

My guy with the sega super scaler vibes. Perfect execution of that sound design.

Also 80s pop disco vibes towards the end there done well.

I love Okinawa!  Was lucky to visit in 2019 before the pandemic.

Great 2:00 change up with the 12/4 kinda thing

Shakuhachi is perfection at the end there

YES

It's strange, it doesn't feel like a minor key, perhaps more F Dorian
It's a good vibe either way

I like the dramatic drive to this track, great motivation this morning

Maaaan, I'm so hopelessly behind in responding to y'all that I might just as well start at the latest track.

Must have been a blast! I loved it now but Augusts in Japan can be brutally hot because of the humidity.

The original riff is "C-minor Eb-major C-minor Bb-major" so it's equally minor and major, maybe that's why it doesn't sound entirely sad and gloomy smile

okinawa seems like the kinda magical beautiful place you'd not want to run out of time in

i caught the never meant rif/nod by the way - was that a concioius or unconcious choice? felt like a wistful message in a bottle...
