Lofi Beats To Ponder Impermanence To

By rplktr on February 4, 2024 5:25 pm

I welcome all critical feedback.

After the bombastic entry last week I had to tone it down a little. What better opportunity to attempt all of it using one instrument? Especially when laguna provided a nice drum track last week just begging to be embedded in something bigger.

72 BPM 4/4, B-minor.

Drums from another Weekly Beats entry: laguna - Beat technique one (Little Piggy). All other sounds from Roland D-05.

Glad to be part of your production. The melody and the arrangements are top notch, though the beat is quite washed out in the background. I must admit it's really strange to hear my beat along another person's work, but I don't say it because "it is my beat".

I mean, the whole piece is quite solidly glued, almost too loud at time, so the difference in volume with the beat is striking. I for one hand wouldn't know how to match such heavy drums with so many melodic elements, so if that's your take, fine for me.

Anyway, great melodies and quite evocative, indeed. Thanks for my small part smile

That's just part of the "lofi beats to [...] to" vibe, most of such tracks don't focus on strong, loud drums but rather make it the heartbeat of the otherwise dreamy song. This is one example straight from the radio playlist now.

Next week I might attempt a mix with louder drums that sidechain the bass. Maybe I overdid it 😅

And by the way, the arrangement was essentially decided by how your drum track flows!

nice beats. the electric piano melody playing is really lovely.

I'd probably classify this as a ballad, but still a good ballad to ponder impermanence to.

Wonderful! I loved the pace of it, and it felt like it moved faster than 72bpm

I really love the synth voice that comes in at 0:55, and I will always have a soft spot in my heart for DX style E-Piano

Instant favorite before getting to the 00:30 mark—everything sails in and delivers a huge mood at all the right times )and with absolute clarity).  Beautiful haunting melodies, too—feels like a smarter version of that era of introspective synth/guitar of the late 80s–early 90s

Perfect rainy city day music for right when the streetlights come on and you can hear cars on the wet pavement more than the actual rainfall.

cool tune, very atmospheric and dreamy feeling

really like that stall / transition at 02:48

smooooth vibin production! i have pondered my impermanence to this song, and somehow still feel IMMORTAL! mad

Nice smooth ballad beat to ponder too. I'm pondering.
