Late for Tea

By rdomain on September 28, 2014 5:32 am

I've been having a break from the modular synth for a few days so I synced up my A4/OT/Tempest combo and cranked out some bass playing.  I really should do more guitar/bass tracks.

You sure that's just tea? Powerful.

wow, cool! kinda reminds me of the good ol' squarepusher stuff with the weird bass editing and more experimental sounds.

Massive!

Holy shit. That's some tremendous bass playing. Great tone too.
Awesome track, so different from pretty much everything I've heard this year from you.

Cheers dude.  I do enjoy creating all sorts but I've just been so obsessed and inspired by the modular format the last couple of years.  Will try do some more guitar based stuff.  Keen to!  I think the other reason I drift towards synthesis is that I teach guitar/bass for my day job (and bands) so it's refreshing to change gears in the studio.  smile

Killer track, great blend of the two worlds. Have you ever thought about getting a double bass? I think you would enjoy the extended range of timbres.

I am envious! I can't wait to leave my retail job for a good teaching job tongue

Thanks mate!  And yes I have.  I don't have any formal training on upright but I'm sure I'd suss it out ok.  I'd love the extended timbres for sure!  I've never had one previously due to lack of space but I moved last year and now have potential space for one.  hmmmmm.

And teaching as a job is pretty good really.  You have to be patient and get used to apathy but the good students make up for the many that don't practice.  Because I've been teaching for a long time now, it's great because I have a heap of ex students now playing in cool bands.  A couple have even shared bills with me on some gigs.  smile
