this week, i'm using the precursor to zack's 'zeptocore'... which is pikocore!
a 'lofi [whatever-you'd-like] mangler', i dropped some synth loops (i made quickly using aalto plugin in renoise) into two pikocores, and left the third with beats i had already uploaded to it from before, and then synced them all together... twisting knobs, etc... to reveal different parts of the mix and effect in different ways at different times...
pikocore also has an interesting fast-gating sound that happens when you turn one of the volume-parameters down almost all the way, sounds like crackly-stretchy audio-taffy big_smile
after recording one straight take, i edited about 6 minutes down to this in logic, and then decided that, because it's a very monophonic sound, and especially with the ambient mood the synth loops dwelled in, i wanted more space, so i also created two aux tracks in logic with 'valhalla vintage' reverb(one was set with shorter time of .44s, the other with longer time of 1.05s, both tracks had multiband compressors used to eq, the shorter-timed reverb had drastic compression of highs, while the longer had moderate compression of lows, and both had EQ before everything to drop bass entirely below around 140hz...)
finally, i created two timeline 'tracks' in logic so i could draw automation for the aux tracks' respective 'binaural panning' automation(both 'angle' and 'distance' params), and went nutz! mad (hope ya don't get dizzy) big_smile

this track turned out unexpectedly pleasing for me(not to mention more quickly than expected, done just within the last two days).. so i've thought about it, and decided carefully: i'm proud enough to choose a license that is a bit more restrictive than cc0 this time, but have chosen 'Attribution Share Alike' because, you see... the other choices here, have 'noncommercial' in them... and i would LOVE to see some huge corporation, like Halliburton, or Lockheed-Martin, or FORD trucks make a tv 'commercial' wink with this track in it... go ahead! i DARE YOU, FORD! mad big_smile
(ahhhhh so proud... perhaps a little too proud... like 'Built Ford Tough' kinda proud, baby! mad)
...ok then... where was i? oh right, another humble weeklybeat done smile cheers, errybuddy! heart

Noise landscape with weird samples! There is even what sounds like an old rusty gate. This is good! I did not know the word "pikokore"!

Oooh just as i read the binaural bit it got turned on it's side yikes  Sweet ideas with the auxs and ValhallaVintage.  Love that plugin.  Super varied assortment of ear candies floating about.  The verb def gives it some sweet atmosphere and space.  Like it's being performed in a warehouse at times. Oh that machine drilly part was extra cool smile

This is a good brainmassage.

A feast of weird glitchy sounds.  I think the reverb adds a really nice touch to the proceedings.  It gives it that sense of existing inside a room or something.  I would love to see this in a Ford commercial.  I would even go so far as to consider test driving one if they went through with using it.

Autechre would make an entire album out of this song.

I'm suitably mangled, but oddly craving a ride a big old Ford truck through some mud. Maybe in the fog. Haha, that would be amazing to have this is commercial. I kinda can picture a truck plowing along through mud to this. Nice weird ride here. I listened on wrong speaker, I wanna go hear in full stereo binaural and really melt. Nice production and sound design!

"sounds like crackly-stretchy audio-taffy".  Brilliant description and would taste delicious if you could eat sound.  Listened on headphones, the panning was not distracting at all, once again great mangled sounds for the ears.  The commercial may not be that far off, there once was a Pirelli Tires commercial with Aphex Twin.

I love the sounds that were generated and you have arranged them to excellent effect

This is so so good. The aux effects sounds amazing. Thank you! heart

Lofi and mangled, as promised! Like the double reverb too.

so cool to walk around in this weird world, Raja. thank you  heart
