holiday melancholy

By Q-Rosh on July 28, 2024 4:54 pm

This was recorded, arranged and mixed on the first day of my holidays. the weather turned out to be very bad. it is raining cats and dogs. nevertheless I am sitting in a dry house, only go for a walk with Paula. this track became a little bit melancholic in the end, I don`t know why. I asked my daughter to play violin for this track and she was doing it in the right mood. greetings and kisses to her. then my friend m2K7 came by and helped me to finish the arrangement. we were discussing a lot and he always said, that I was deleting too many nice moments, but I had to clean up a lot of layers and recordings from this track. I finished with 3 different mixes. there was a clean gluecompressor version, a tapesimulation version and a version with raindrops on my roofwindow (which I recorded with the iphone the same night). the last version was used for my Wilcox Raw-Cats weeklybeats account and contains the raindropping and the vintage recordlathelofihissandhum. I decided to take the cleaner mix with the ableton compressor, because it is more transparent and less noise. Thank you all and take care.

Creates a nice mood.  The violin sits really well in the mix and contributes a lot to the feel.  I also liked how there was a long silence after that opening chord.

I hope you have good vacations and rest from all the crazy work. I like the relaxing layers and the violin lines in this track. There is indeed a lot of melancholy in this track, sustained by beautiful tones.

The violin sounds so good in this and reminded me a bit of Olafur Arnalds.  So cool to hear m2K7 working with you on this.  Love how the piano sounds and those lil guitar bits are extra appreciated.  melancholy therapy for the soul heart  hope you get some sunny skies soon!

glitch plus violin makes me happy. also the movent of this piece is wonderful, it really tells a story

Ohhhh I LOVE this piece.  So nicely arranged, and the glitchy bits are perfect ear candy.  The harmonies are just lovely through out, and it's exceptionally well arranged.  The violin around 3:10... absolutely tore my heart out (in the best possible way) ‧º·(˚ ˃̣̣̥⌓˂̣̣̥ )‧º·.

oh wow, Q-Rosh. just gorgeous. love the violin from your daughter!
really moving music here.
hope the rest of your vacation is restful and full of love & light

I feel I am sitting and looking out at a rainy landscape. Plenty to contemplate while looking at the rain and listening. The violin is lovely and brings many deep thoughts. Such nice textures and sounds all around.

Dang this is so cool, feels so distinctly unique to me. This is such a patient song, it unfolds steadily and in such a satisfying way. Awesome work!

bravo team q-rosh! just lovely!

hope you got at least a few nice weather days on your holiday!
