hey ho

This week my effort was getting the new edrum (I found on the street) working as good as possible. I tried to find out which is best drummodule for a low price, looking through hundrets of Youtube clips. My choise came to an Alesis DM10, with extra 4 pads on a solid stand. It arrived on Wednesday and finally could make it work the next day, after soldering and extending the 12 cables. I moved the whole gear into the bedroom, where I could play and record something in silence on Friday. Beeing an newbie on those drums, I used a slow guitarloop to play along and added some more guitars. The edrumming was something I always hated and never ever wanted in my studio, because it can sound so stiff and boring. But now I have to excuse, because I found out, that it is much better than fingerdrumming for me and it has many velocity curves, I can choose from. Now I can practice the holding of a beat and having fun with the surprising samples the module offers. On the weekend I arranged somthing very cheesy and here it is...and there is a faster version on polycarbonate as wilcox raw-cats on weeklybeats.

What a journey. That guitar loop is beautiful, pretty and sparse but leads us through a whole journey. The path keeps shifting with tremolo effects, and then the voice samples. It feels similar but keeps morphing and keep things interesting. I love the background of your experiments, with found instruments that have their own voice and history. You are giving them a new life and they can express themselves again. Beautiful track to listen to on a Monday mornnig.

Another wonderful epic sound journey.  The tremolo sounds are super cool and the whole thing rides a groove that feels warm, nostalgic, and welcoming.  The hey hos were a fun touch as well.  It almost sounds like there's a Pac-Man sample at the very end?

love the slow chopped groove of this one, Q-Rosh. that tremolo was so intense and cool. it's always exciting to see (hear) what colors you will bring to the canvas each week  heart

Love the melody and chord progression of the guitar loop.  The feel and progression reminded me a lil of mazzy star's fade into you but in more positive uplifting feel. The Alesis looks and sounds like it's a blast to play.  Oh Ho Hey! Yay for the Pac-Man-tro!

Thank you for listening till the end. Yes, it is the Pac-Man from my iPad. Somehow I stumbled over it while I was recording. Crazy, how deep these sounds are burned into our brains. Hope there is no copyright problem.

Oh hé! eDrums are a nice tool. I rarely use mine, but it can be fun. I feel it is more fun to use with crazy electronic sounds (or very synthy ones) than going for the acoustic sounds (Which can work great too, especially with third party plugins)

Love the guitars there and drums are fun.

I like the vocal samples that come in around 5min, guitars are on point. Great percussion throughout. I did not think this was cheesy at any point. Well done! Good luck with the new drums

I was floating along with your excellent guitar lines and tight beat, then oh hey ho hey voice surprised me later but sounded cool. Like you or someone in the room get excited and started a bit of a chant, nice. I agree on playing with sticks on the edrums better than finger drumming, so much fun. I play on an Alesis Command kit, pretty decent sound stock sounds, but I often just capture the midi and add different sounds in ableton. Love the pac man at the end. Brings back good memories!

Love the contrast between wavering sustained elements and dry staccato elements. Once again, wonderful and imaginative work. heart

Really enjoyed the journey throughout this tune. Wide variety of cool effects on display. I was particularly drawn towards the guitar bits around 3:20.

this is a real journey, great arrangement, love how you add layers to the compositon, everything fits together really well. amazing song

i really love how alive the drums feel, wonderful job with the build and great choices. it makes me want to do some actual drumming sometime. The guitars are so luscious, great vibe throughout, favorited

This is a good one to get lost in!

fantastic

A pleasure to listen to, something to flow with, and be surprised by. Feels playful

this is fun and soulful at the same time, jam packed with little interesting moments and details. interesting variation as it progresses. can really tell you're having fun with that drum kit smile

All the variety in the drums is great! I really like the guitar playing, especially some of the more effected droning/melodic lines. This is a great slow jam.

Quite a psychedelic journey of sorts.  So many sounds and parts colliding together to form one.  Lots of interesting guitar tones too!
