Never Any Fun at Parties

By MRDRCAT on June 2, 2024 2:56 pm

I don't do slow songs. I prefer stuff that's upbeat and not boring (even though there's plenty of music I enjoy for texture & mood, like ambient and dungeon). So I figured I'd see if I could actually do something slower (in this case I think 115 BPM). Turned into a sort of 80s teen drama introspection montage, I think? I'm not unhappy with it overall. The vocal samples are from a public domain educational short about social etiquette called "Cindy Goes to a Party".

Great track the vocal samples add a ghostly element to the tune.   I am never any fun at parties either I just sit there so I can relate to Cindy

This IS slow for you, isn’t it? smile

Sounds great! Absolutely has that “montage!” teen movie feel, in the best meaning possible.

As always, great atmosphere. Love the samples. I might have that one in my Sample Fodder folder as well LOL. Great use of it. Love the bendy lead, and that little breakdown at 1:45 or so.

Omg, when I first glanced at the title, I could have SWORN I read "Never Any Furties in Paris", hahahahah...
That clap ending is so nice, btw. I like the slower tempo here! I can still feel your touch of whimsy, fun and upbeated-ness, but the slower pace here definitely gives it a different flavor. Very nice!

This is very cool! I'll have to check out your other tunes.

love the sliding synth and the bass line. The vocal samples are a nice touch

Ha, great title. Love the lead and the arpeggio coming in at 00:30. The pads coming in at 1:20 work really well. Great track, definitely got the mood you were going for.
