digital goulash

This week I started 3 different projects, but could not find the right mood to get into the material. Like a good Goulash, it has to age a little more. This song here is a musical collage with recordings I found on the SSDs and recorded freshly. I utilized a monochordrecording, which I played myself, while my friend did the gongs, a lot of ambient guitar and a few piano chords. There are also 2 short clips with M2K7 loops, which I manipulated with my guitarpedals.

That intro takes me to sergio leone. A good guitar with tremolo will do that. Beautiful sound. Oh wow the energy from 3:30 took me by surprise, it is as if we were wandering through a large house and there is this room with bright colors and full energy music, and we happen to pass next to it from time to time, with the music ebbing and flowing.

The image of a Goulash is great. It is true that sometimes you feel there is a good energy in a track but it's not ready yet, it needs to wait more, mature more, before being fully ready.

haha goulash is a good metaphor for this mishmash. cool techniques on the gongs and guitar and stuff. strange and jarring synth part at 3min, anxiety inducing, like finding a hair in the goulash that just won't unstick from your hand as you shake it. loved the speech that fades in at times.

I can see how the goulash metaphor works as this took some unexpected turns.  I was finding it a mostly soothing experience and then it sounded like it was occasionally getting invaded by a dance party before going into some sort of deep trance-like state.  A nice range of experiences.

very trippy but comforting journey through sound
but now i am hungry for goulash!

I always enjoy how your tracks have their own journey through sound.  That sort of space-satellite-scanning-frequencies-feel as we have the comforting intro that then leads into the energetic nostalgia from a 90s dance club.  "Please sir some moooore" **holds bowl out**
