birthday party

By Q-Rosh on July 14, 2024 8:57 pm

this week on friday I got a saxophone. It was very stinky and dirty. I had no idea if it is working and if I get a sound out of it. So I cleaned it extensively and was very lucky, that it worked. It is the first time I have ever played such a thing. On saturday my son made a birthday party in our house and two of his friends wanted to test some of my instruments and we jammed for two hours in the basement and I recorded this of course. I was motivated to play some percussion, flute and sax on sunday. By chance, my dear friend Günther came along, to play epiano as well to the segments I have chosen for this weeklybeat. I also used an electronic loop, that my friend M2K7 gave me a few days ago. The mix and arrangement of this song became not really predictable and a little chaotic. But you are used to it. Have a nice week.

love that y'all ended up jamming at the party, that's the best. really fun and wild track!

No way! This is beautiful!

Woah this is the most unique jam I've heard in a loooong time.  Such a cool variety of instruments and sounds.  I'm used to you finding samples in the trash but this is a new one yikes  Trent Reznor would be proud of your Lost Highway-esque sax lines.  Love the changeups this takes at the 3min and 5min mark.  Also really cool that m2k7 joined ya, always a fan of his tracks.  PS I would love to play sax with trashcans on fire js

What a cool jam! I love hearing collaborative explorations like this. big_smile

Thats an awesome story, those days are the best days. I have a sax somewhere I should grabs some reeds, havent touched one since ... well a long time ago.

It sounds like a fun day.  The flutes and sax add some really nice new colors to your palette of sounds.  I hope to hear some more of them in future tracks as well.

It's great that you captured that happy time! It must be great to have a place to jam at home and have friends and family to celebrate together! A saxophone! That is exciting! Such a beautiful instrument, a marvel of engineering, and some wonderful sounds can be created with it. But wind instruments like trumpets or saxophones are like alien technology to me. I'm looking forward to hearing more tracks you'll create with that new member to the party.

this was a lot of fun and definitely sounds like a party! i enjoyed the transition to the final section and change of mood, as well

Yes, we are used to the Q Rosh sound and we like it! Fun things happening in this one, some surprises. Sounds like a birthday party that got a little bit interesting late at night. Love the story about how this came about. haha, a stinky sax. Kudos to you for getting it working again. My son plays sax, I hear it often. I bet visitors would indeed have fun with all the magical things in studio Q Rosh.

Love the story how this all came together, great collaboration of family and friends, all is enjoyable but my favourite is the last section, like how the sounds are just floating in the background.

Wonderful and free track, sounds like you enjoyed making it!

There's so many songs in this song! Really enjoy the variety and how free flowing everything is.
