So Smart

Started with a nice piano chord progression but really struggled with lyrics. Couldn't come up with much looping the beat on a walk so just threw down this quick hook in the last 20m. I heard a story about someone recording an album with lyrics seeded from magnetic words on a music stand so I had chat GPT give me a bunch of random rhyming words and went from there...

Live congas, cabasa, and a frog guiro on this one. Haven't bothered to mic those up in awhile, turned out fairly nice.

Switched things up a bit on the outro.

Very chill! I couldn’t figure out which was the frog, but the cabasa sounded right on and professional!

Thx! Yeah I mixed most of the live perc super low, if I knew I was gonna call it out as a highlight should have maybe not done that 😆

The frog is only layered when the drums are going

frog guiro solo

The chord progressions in here are so tasty, especially the middle section. Sweet bass line! And too answer you're question... because we are!

Unexpected outro, rad change up.

The progressions are stellar, what you do with them is even better.

This is lovely, the percussion is so satisfying and so many little changes throughout with the melody.

I also struggle with lyrics, many of my tunes would benefit from lyrics and yet I never record them. You're brave for doing that and the result is really chill and nice. The transition from binary tempo to ternary in the end was really nice.

Thanks! I basically never wrote lyrics before weeklybeats. Then I saw my bud blighters_rock cranking them out every single week and figured the issue can't be lack of time like I thought it was. So far that has proven accurate. The issue was lack of giving myself permission to write and publish bad lyrics. Then, some of them were OK or good
