Seeing it through

By prophisee on January 14, 2024 11:46 pm

Hard-hitting beat with some lush side-chained synth chords. The idea for this one started with a beatbox.

Not much time to write lyrics so my strategy has been to hit just record and say what comes out. In this case, the result captures my ADHD conflict of having abundant ideas but slow execution, and how that might be perceived by others.  Probably a solid song idea if I iterate on those.

Don't ask why it starts with train ambiance, I just thought it sounded cool

That swell into the beat at the beginning was so good, as well as out of scale notes, and I couldn't really place what was going on until the beat picked up, which I loved.

Nice use of raised 7 spice without overdoing it. Great i VII VI v and the other part that went down to iv was nice too.

Can relate to the lyrics, great job seeing it through. Lex was banging his head to it.

I had some advance notice that this was going to be a banger, and I think you delivered. I think frogcity pointed out some key points, but I also want to add that I think the way the swells feel more pronounced as the song comes to a close is really neat. Nice job!

Thanks! NI session horns never fail me. They always deliver but I gotta be careful not to overuse them 🙊
