Vacuous Mass (featuring djippy)

By Princent Vice on October 13, 2024 11:47 pm

Collab with djippy on guitar and drums! My part is all m8. I sent djippy the stems for my track and they sent me the mixdown of the drums plus some guitar. We both mixed/mastered on our own so be sure to check their page for a different interpretation! Mixed and mastered in Logic for iPad, as is the custom

Thanks for the track, I like your version the best!

It was a fun exercice.

Take care!

Oh HEEEEEELLL yes, this rocks my socks!!! Those are such AWESOME melodic lines!
Something about the guitar here really reminds me of the soundtrack for the first Duke Nukem 3D game, which I ABSOLUTELY LOVED.
Great job here overall! And congrats to the two of you for the successful collab, this was clearly super fruitful.

These are some of the tastiest sounds ever, crispy crunchy bass, wailing not-quite guitar, one very solid lead, and honestly, this title is better as well.

This is definitely more electronic-sounding than djippy's mix, with a smoother overall sound. Not better or worse, but a wonderfully different feel to it. Same energy, different direction, and I'm happy that both exist. It doubles the chance that I'll want to listen to it as my mood shifts smile Great track!

This is my new favorite collab style - sharing tracks and then two unique mixes. Fantastic.

djippy's bass and drums add a mechanical roughness to the proceedings that are great. Love the glossiness of this mix - like polished machine. That chugging guitar goes GREAT in the mix. Awesome stuff!

This entire idea reminds me of listening to Peter Gabriel's "i/o" mixes that were released in Light and Dark versions. Sometimes the same song could sound quite different.

This mix is much more surgical and electronic sounding. I appreciate how precise everything is here, but I liked the industrial grit of the other mix. Would it be crazy to wish for a mix that went somewhere in-between the two? big_smile

just came over from djippy's page. so cool to hear both takes using the same building blocks! love the precision in this mix. nice work to both of you!
