Rollercoaster Slow Ride

By Plantrain on November 18, 2018 11:42 pm

This track started out with me trying to come up with something on the acoustic piano again (this year's it's been mostly Pianoteq). But after recording just a few notes I started adding Absynth bass and synth. Then some more acoustic piano, and Pianoteq. Then adding effects to make some of the piano parts sound more like guitar parts. Drums from the Volca and some more Absynth sounds.

As I was doing the final mix I realized that this probably could have benefitted from having more of a song structure. Given more time it would have been worth exploring.

Piano and steady percussion set a good mood. Loving the ambience and buildup.

Nice build. I'll ride again!

The production on this is really ace.

It could have had more structure, but as it stands it is more of this atmospheric build up.  That fake piano-guitar is absolutely wonderful!  Very clever.  Would not have known it was piano, had you not mentioned it.  I want to try that now!  A little tremolo and distortion/saturation?

Great use of effects, enjoying the slow ride, well done on the mix everything fits just right.

It's like a train ride going nowhere in particular.

It has a great sensation of motion and a nice buildup.  It has an upbeat feel to it as well.  Nice job.

Really cool instrumentation, it has a post rock sorta feel to it with the slow build and beat.  Nice work!
