A Part Two

By Plantrain on February 16, 2014 9:28 pm

A darker mood in my music this week. Started with a short guitar 'riff' I had recorded for a piece that I never could find a good way to complete. Decided to try to make a track where the various drones and noises that usually stay in the background would be allowed to take more a central role. Didn't really follow through all the way with this idea, so the end result is well into my musical comfort zone.

Ended up recording live acoustic drums and improvised six tracks of synth/noise/drone, before I cut the guitar take up and placed small parts of it throughout the track. The other tracks are mostly left unedited to keep the improvisational feel.

Although not intended to match the weekly theme, hopefully it will sit quite nicely with the futurist noise submissions I look forward to listening to.

Nice! I like the idea of trying to recreate the spirit of the futurists. I might try that as well sometime. Cheers!

very intriguing drones! Nice one!

very dark track, the low bassy beat and sparse guitar gave me images of a post apocalyptic movie with the opening shot of the movie showing the desolate landscape smile

Love the sparse yet deep percussion and the slow moving guitar tones.  Very nice indeed!

Thanks for the feedback and the kind words! smile

Dark as night! I like it!
