Born Strangers

By pineapple_dan on March 12, 2022 8:22 pm

This is a song I have written in bits and pieces over several years. I decided to finally record it this week and I think it's actually one of my favorite recordings ever. I just like how all the different pieces intersect and how the song plays with tension and release.

Lyrics:
When we are born, we are born strangers
To everyone else
The search begins for all which does not
Yet exist inside ourselves

Should we be so lucky
To stand on shoulders so wise
For fear we are broken
For the rest of our lives

How dare you distort my perception of beauty!

When we are born, we are born strangers
To everyone else
Malleable and pure
The void inside ourselves

I think this is one of my favorite recordings ever too! all of the phrasing of each part works so perfectly with the others

this song is really really great!

Both people listening on this end agree: This is really good (SO adds, "it's fabulous.")

Cool song! I particularly like the timing on the "how dare you…" lines. Great flow switch.

Great work on the vocals, goes so well with those guitars.

Thanks for the kind words and encouragement everyone! This was a really fun one to record. I'm going to release this one on my Bandcamp and Spotify pretty soon.
