San Onofre

By Phil Harmonic on May 2, 2022 12:01 am

So I was on my way home from the juggling festival i went to this weekend in Santa barbara and I realized I was running out of time to finish my track cause traffic sucked.. so i got this idea to stop at the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS) and make my track in the car on my laptop.. I figured.. what better place to make a song than at a place literally called SONGS.. also. it's a semi famous landmark (for obvious reasons) that is visible from the freeway on the way back to san diego. I proceeded to exit the 5 at the san onofre exit and drove as close to the facility as I could get, parked my car.. got out.. snapped some pics.. got back in and commenced making my track wink  I recorded the crappy vocals using the crappy mic on my macbook smile.. This is a late submission as for some reason i had no signal near the facility.. i had always wanted to stop and get a closer look at the facility anyway and I will soon lose my chance since it is being decommissioned and will be completely gone by 2026 :<.

Nice story! Track reminds me of the nuclear future as seen from the 80s.

What a lovely tale, and a lovely ode to SONGS.

What a tease.

The vocal has an appropriately haunting quality.  Nice down tempo swagger.
