MOUNTAINS

Decided to play with some sample chopping this week. Source material for the vocals is audio from a snowboarding friend of mine, Nat. It was tricky to work with because there was a lot of background wind and snow noise in several of the clips, but I did my best with filters/eq to try to tame it a bit. I have a new respect for some of you sample chopping pros out there!

Chopping the samples and finding ways to string them together nicely was the bulk of the effort in this one. There was one singing line that kinda dictated the key of the song. I tried adding a few additional melodies at various points, but it just ended up too busy and crowded in the mix so I dropped that idea. Anyway, I like the way it all came together in the end!

And big thanks to Nat for agreeing to let me mash up her voice into this song!

Yes. Yes. YES YES YES! This RULES man! Awesome job! Slicing vocals is definitely not an easy task, but I gotta say, you did a hell of a job here. Seriously does not sound like someone's first attempt, especially because of the wide variety of stuff you built.
