Birds and Rain

By Pescadito on March 10, 2024 11:13 pm

Hi all! after last week I found not make it for the song, I tried to come up with something today (late like alwaysss).

I am currently back in Italy and still exploring ambiance recording while traveling. So this time I wanted to include the sounds I hear the most these days... birds and rain. It's a rainy start of spring here in northern Italy, but it feels fresh and like a new start!

I am not so happy I had to rush the song. I ended up too tired to really make what I envisioned and I feel like I wanna remake a lot of it in the future.

The idea started from putting together a couple of ideas I came up with on the guitar few weeks ago. Then I thought they actually fit together and they could go along with the birds and rain recordings. It was fun to play on fretless bass and acoustic guitar (which I normally don't have around in Copenhagen).

The solo I recorded few takes and then bought about doubling some parts of the song. No so happy about most of the lines but I was not so inspired at all today eheh

The recording I made with a Zoom H1n (recent upgrade!) which I was also able to use as an A/I (cool feature). Minimal mix and master as I had to rush.

I hope you'll enjoy!

lots of nice changes! maybe a bit too much doubling of the guitars, and then there's too many rhythms not going so well together. And then the drums are perfectly in time, so maybe that clashes a bit too. But a track is a track.

The ambient noise is really nice tho, the zoom was worth it!
