This is another Damage rough track recorded in the basement this week with half the music coming from collaborator/drummer/dj/synthesist Joseph Livingston. He wrote and laid down the base track earlier this year. Joe programmed the drums and bass synths with some additional melodies. I worked on arrangement and added the distorted synths on the Moog Liberation, then white noise percussion from Moog DFAM and finally, I synced the Moog Grandmother with two Mother32s for all the rapid fire arps and crescendo. The semi-modulars are all going at the same time recorded live while I adjust the clock rates and volumes. It's a beast of a job and I do not enjoy working with the modulars. Told Joe to take them with him, out of my house! The vocoder parts are performed on the King Korg.
This is quite a rough track and mix so the arrangement will change in the final version if that ever happens. Don't know what parts will survive. We have about a dozen songs in various stages of completion. Always starting something new before finishing anything. You know how it goes!
Also, on a side note for anyone reading, I spent about 4 hours driving in a car with my daughter as I picked her up from college and dropped her back at the end of the weekend. This was 4 solid hours of Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo at high volume while by daughter explained every track to me. Wouldn't miss it for the world. Time well spent . Can't wait to do it again in a few weeks.
