Blot Punk

This is another Damage rough track recorded in the basement this week with half the music coming from collaborator/drummer/dj/synthesist Joseph Livingston.  He wrote and laid down the base track earlier this year.  Joe programmed the drums and bass synths with some additional melodies.  I worked on arrangement and added the distorted synths on the Moog Liberation, then white noise percussion from Moog DFAM and finally, I synced the Moog Grandmother with two Mother32s for all the rapid fire arps and crescendo.  The semi-modulars are all going at the same time recorded live while I adjust the clock rates and volumes.  It's a beast of a job and I do not enjoy working with the modulars.  Told Joe to take them with him, out of my house!  The vocoder parts are performed on the King Korg.

This is quite a rough track and mix so the arrangement will change in the final version if that ever happens.  Don't know what parts will survive. We have about a dozen songs in various stages of completion.  Always starting something new before finishing anything.  You know how it goes!

Also, on a side note for anyone reading, I spent about 4 hours driving in a car with my daughter as I picked her up from college and dropped her back at the end of the weekend.  This was 4 solid hours of Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo at high volume while by daughter explained every track to me.  Wouldn't miss it for the world.  Time well spent smile. Can't wait to do it again in a few weeks.

A really rough number. The vocoder king sounds fantastic. The trillion synth as well. Nice to hear the taxi-daddy expands his musical horizon on the trips with the sweet daughter. Good job of yours and your brotherhood.

A good collaboration.  I like the kind of raw feel of the production.  It gives it a tough, gritty feel.  Neat story about the car ride with the daughter.  Sounds like a good bonding experience and like you're an awesome dad.

Rock yeah.

Love those thick synths, like the punk vibe, vocoder is fun.

The robots are at it again, ripping the keyboard and tearing the guitar.

Sweet track! I'm so glad in so many ways I don't own any modular. LOL I do wish I had a way to do vocoder stuff though.

oh this is so good!  let me know when this album is done!

i love the mix, don't change it - the kick drum is slightly overwhelming and that's actually a really really really good thing.

also please have your daughter make a swift/OR mix for me WITH commentary inbetween the tracks.

tell her that i have TTPD pre-ordered (the black dog version) she'll know what that means
