Anthony's Fingers Hurt

By PantherMountain on February 6, 2022 6:24 pm

I played more acoustic for this track than I have in the past 7 years.

Never played a ton, and after neuropathy from chemo, my fingers couldn't deal with the thick strings.

Went into this week with no plan.  Have had that finger picking lick forever, so decided to branch off of that.  Did not expect it to turn into what it did

I don't have a ton of time each week to work on songs, so will definitely revisit this one with a tambourine and a singer.

Gear:
Alvarez Acoustic from the 80s and made in Japan.  No clue, it just sounds nice
Blue Spark Mic - best budget mic with the worst shock mount ever
UAD Compression and Pre-Amp
Tom Anderson Tele into UAD PT100 amp sim
Fender Aerodyne into Parallax bass plugin
Akai Mini into Lord of The Springs (some free ware synth I got forever ago)
SD3

Mixed by my singer Daniel

Have to work on a cover song with friends this week, so we'll see if I can pull double duty

Nice job recording that acoustic. It sounds really saucy and pleasant. I dig that chord you change to in the chorus. I don't know enough theory to know what that sort of change is called, but it's tasty. Great sounds you're getting here across the board. Really impressed. Bravo! Tell Anthony to suck it up and keep rockin and rollin.

Cheers!

No clue what that change is called either.  I just like to play what sounds nice.

Thanks for checking it out.  Wish I could spend more time each week on these

Solid acoustic guitars! I have to argue that best budget mic with pretty bad shockmount might be the NEAT Worker Bee...

I think this can become a very good song. It is already really pleasant as it is.

My fingers hurt too bro, and I dont even have an illness to blame for my weak fingers lol. But a really cool tune, and great mix as usual!

I'll have to check that mic out.  I'm almost entirely in the box these days, so my mic game is off.

My singer is already working on lyrics, so can't wait to hear what hes got.  Thanks for checking it out

thanks buddy.  Never got in the acoustic game, despite enjoying finger picking.

Need to find a new genre for next week

this sounds so so so so good.  my fingers hurt just listening to it smile

sorry about your health challenges, but you play better with neuropathy fingers than I do with non-neuropathy fingers.  you're really good!

love when the drums dropped

Poor Anthony, but the guitars come out amazingly
I'd say skip the tambourine and the singer and get maybe like a melodica behind it, seriously it works so well with one

Hell, just send me what you want it to play and I'll do it for you
