I was really inspired by his work and asked him what his process was.  He said he just took a snippet of one of his previous compositions and turned the reverb all the way up smile  I took the guitar and the "ahh ahh" choral vocals from my week 14 track "We Can Die If We Want To" and added a sub-bass track.

With these three tracks, tons of reverb, a tape simulator, and compression - here's what I got.  I kind of "performed it live" by recording automation with all of my fader moves and dialing.  I only used the computer mouse for this.  I was going to hook up my Push 2 and use the knobs, but all that stuff is still set up from last Friday's show (thanx to the WB crew who represented and watched! heart ) I'd like to do this on tape sometime, but that requires more forethought and set up than I am able to do at the moment.  I converted this to MP3 using LAME (via XLD) instead of iTunes so I'm sure everyone will be able to hear the UNBELIEVABLE CLARITY!

I'm still not in the mood to work on music, but working on music is fun.  Thank the heavens for music.  I love you all.

Do you have a tape machine that you like to use for looping?

Neat how you can take that material and turn it into something with a completely different character.  This is a really cool follow-up!

hey man, this sounds really good, also makes me super happy to have provided a little inspiration.  heart heart

Reminds me of a track off the movie Sunshine. Good stuff man.

it is amazing to hear how it also reverses completely the mood of the track. From upbeat to hypermelancholic. Supernice and very interesting procédé;

Excellent repurposing. A bit familiar, but totally new. The addition of the bass adds a strong foundation and rich sound. Love the long fade out into pure reverb. Good show on Friday!

It's really cool to see WB influence in action.  I feel like I'm constantly being at least subtly influenced by the amazing stuff I hear here every week.  I might have to take a crack at this sort of methodology sometime.

Whoah this is astounding. I listened twice. Well done.

Super lush and soothing to my ears smile  An awesome idea especially for those "idonwanna!" weeks.  Love that one repeating chord that folds in and out.  When it fades out my ears were like no come back!

Great job recreating the technique, I have also been very intrigued with Bleeoop's method and output.  The ahh ahh has such a ghostly/meditative feel to it.

love this ambient calming kind of minimalism. Beautiful.

need more of this! super lush

Thats the best way to do a Drone.
Excellent vibe!
