Sampler Cassette Tape I

HALF WAY DONE!

I got a Kaoss Pad!  I am really excited to use this in my live set.  It's awesome to do stuff like loop/glitch editing and play it like an instrument.  Other exciting news: we hired an electrician to fix some lights and install some more electrical sockets in the basement.  This whole time I've been making music, I've been using one electrical socket and an unsafe number of extension cables and power strips.  I can't WAIT.  The electrician is actually here today, so I made this week's beat by loading up a clip from Week 14's "We Can Die If We Want To" and then I just ran through a bunch of the FX.  Also, I don't have mastering software installed on my regular, non-studio computer, so I whipped up something with Ableton compressors/limiters.  Dropped the ELPHNT Tape plug-in that I love so much.

How was your week?  Let me know!

It was so so... But life goes on. smile Fun track. Those khaos pads looks like loads of fun.

I was talking about my week that it was so so, not your track...

HA HA, for a second I was like HUH that's an interesting way to put it with no feedback!

BUT ACTUALLY I just want to remind everyone that I'm always open for constructive criticism!

My week was also okay.  The track is awesome.  Cool effects and a raw production style.  Who needs fancy mastering?  That's good news on the electrician.  More electrical outlets is definitely a good thing.

Loved the vocal harmonies at the end of the original. Hearing that part of the track stretched into an experimental electronic track just made my weekend!

this is a super mellow remake with superb effects. sugar for my ears.

Yes to Kaoss Pad! A guitar plugged into that gives you a whole new range but I wish I had more hands or to have one directly within the guitar body like Matt Bellamy's.
Cool sounds there, this is organic and feels great.

Aww man I've wanted a Kaoss pad forevers but obviously have way too much GAS to concentrate on getting it tongue  One of my fav beat makers Divinci always used one for his live shows and it had some awesome effects in it.  Love the bassline/guitar strumming in this but even better when it gets thrown into the Kaoss pad.  I look forward to hearing this used more.  Also One Electrical Socket would be a great band/album name.

Nowadays having an okay week is a very very good thing smile  I'm so excited that you really liked the track!  Can't wait to plug in MY TOYZ

Wow, thank you! The vocal harmonies are also my favorite part of the song, so I don't mind listening to them on repeat for hours (which I actually did when I was working on the original!)

I can't wait to try it with guitar.  This KP has a function where you can record finger movement, and then hop back on guitar - I'm excited to try it.  Mad shout out to Matt Bellamy!!

ha ha, spot on with "One Electrical Socket" esp for a one man band.  I will have to check out Divinci!

Fun mix, great effects ... I like my kaoss pad 3, though it sometimes is annoying to hook everything up, so I skip it. I like the ELPHNT tape plugin too, good stuff. Cool track! Enjoy those new sockets!

That glitching tho.

this is a fun remix. love the sudden vinyl stops. "BA DA BA -ERWHA- BAAAAA"
