Mr. Jean-Baptiste (le saint)

June 24th is the Québec National patriot day. I did think about what we are, what we should be as a nation.
It is far to be simple... I am pretty proud of lots of things in my little (8 millions people) (huge 1.668 million km²) province.
It was for a long time managed mostly by Catholic Church who did disgusting things especially to the first nations, but to some of the French Canadians too. We had our problems with English imperialism as well. In a sens Catholic church did help Québec to survive as French people. In the 1960's, Quebecers did get mostly rid of the Church, without any blood. For the most of us, especially our parents, religion is a really really tricky subject. And with immigration at the moment, some of those debates that we did think were resolved as a society are back.
As it is today, I see Québec province as the best place to live for me, even with all the little problems here and there.
Anyways, boooooring stuff. All that to say that I tried to write a little something about Québec. I am uploading a first draft tonight as I am going out this week end and I am not sure if I'll be able to work more on it. If I can I'll upload a version with acoustic drums overdubs and might re-work a little bit guitars as this was done fairly quickly...
Have a marvelous week all!
JP.
Damn I just came back home and listened to the track and my vocal track have loads of noises... Meh, sorry about that all. When you rush a track it does what it does.
