leaking from the eyes

there is a tear in my eye and my face hurts from smiling so hard. this is great. you get down with grandpa!

"Yung Grandpa", HAHA! Best Trumpet-Playing-Grandpa-Hop Ever!

This rocks on every level. heart A triumphant return for Yung Grandpa.
Best of luck with the Tiny Desk contest, by the way!

gosh you are so freaking great. heart

getting some beck vibes on this one! love the autobiography style smile gotta forgive yourself at the end of the day

Relatable on a remarkable number of levels. Love you, man. heart

This was fantastic.  Great flow and it was nice to get to know some more about you at the same time.  The trumpet was once again an excellent touch.

Fucking love it, bringing the quality week after week ngl

A big, bold, emphatic X on the weekly chart for this one. Great job! Really loved the "better never than late" lyric. Taking a worn cliché and turning it on its head is a recipe for instant lyrical goodness. The drums at the desk in the video was a great touch. Bravo!

Haha, excellent.  Dig the rhymes and the music works a treat!

This is amazing! Also, once again I love the pupper content.

Wow wow wow wow so much love and positivity in song. I like how some of it is about challenges and things that were not great but the way you put it brings so much acceptance, love and just going past it. It's just wonderful. I LOOOOVED the section from 1:15 with the crazy dance moves, Frank contributing too. Best time in the video is 1:23 with the insane pose there.

The guitar line is really nice, it sounds actually maybe like what a bass line could be on that rap track. Also i loved your drum set setting on the desk, so funny. Very nicely done track but beyond the music, for me it's really the message, the vibe. You're a beautiful human being, sir! Please keep it that way.

I lack words to describe how ridiculously amazing this track is! It has the story telling, energy, finesse and heart! Thank you for this tasty sonic cocktail and the story of your life!

Incredible Orange Drink! I really enjoyed this

no... No..., umm, NO! you have NOOOO business being this awesome. BOTH OF YOU. stop it. please? (not really). you just literally keep delivering week after week, raising that bar while I just view from afar (damn you've got me typing in rhymes now) that was catchy as hell, and had such an amazing message/delivery. bless you Orange Drink and co.

Nice- 1:33 is so cool! Also, the creativity that comes thru in the variety that u provide, week to week is really wonderful. Makes for a really eclectic sound- what I always look for in an album, that type of spontaneity

supergood oldschool hiphop. The guitar and trompet fit very well into the song. Awesome track and video.
I did have fun with this song. Thank you.

That dancing on the desk is quite scary to look at... smile

It is very nice to hear that song, I feel like I know you a little more. Cool track, all the acoustic instruments are very nice.

Yeeeaaahhs!! The return of Young Grampa!! Been waiting eagerly for this. Love the song. I feel like I know so much more about you now, and was smiling during the whole thing! I hope you get on the tiny desk. This one showcases you well, playing all the instruments, getting really real realz in the words (great lyrics here!), being fun the whole time. Bip ups gramps!

YES YES YES!!! Yung Grandpa for the win - tiny desk 2022!!! Rooting for you!!!

Loved hearing your story!  heart  All the musical details and video moves were so on point!!!

Huzzah Yung Grandpa, Frank, & doggie (what is your beautiful retrievers name?)!!!

Both amazing music and story! And I like you have all the flags to show! You are inspiring to say and be yourself, thank you for sharing it smile

this is just so great!

Ha! The videos just get better and better! Now I know the whole story (kinda).  Awesome to see Yung Grandpa back and combined with trumpet. Great lyrics, dance moves and beat. One of my favs!

What a bop.

Awesome, I was going to make a request this week for the return of yung grandpa, pleasant surprise.  Lyrics are great, not easy to do and tell a story like you did, reminded me a bit of Fresh Prince of Bel Air intro (I mean that in the most positive way, I still think that intro is so dope and Fresh Prince was a master at the storytelling raps)

Adored this!

Whatever you're drinking or eating keep doin cuz damn the creativity and beats are just nonstop!  Related a lot to those lyrics about forgiving and therapy for sure.  Much appreciated to hear your awesome story.  Also the dog trick was perfect lol.  PS I already said it on YT but when that Brass kicked in it was like YAIS! I literally had my hands up like I was on a roller coaster tongue

That’s a Blighters_Rock move to flip a cliché!  Thank you so much for noticing that, it was a big lyric for me.

Wow, you are just way too complimentary, thank you Mr. Break.  lol at 1:23 I cracked up when we saw the video preview.  Thanks again, as always, just trying to bring a lot of my love into the work, and now on the screen too.

Thanks!  I think creativity is my best asset, not my technical expertise or depth of knowledge, so I really try to play that up.  thank you!

ha ha!  got a lot of comments on the desk being wobbly.  It’s side-to-side wobble is bad, but the top-down sturdiness is good.  …so far.

I’m glad to introduce myself to you a little bit better this way!  Hugs!

AYYYY I’m so flattered about the few people who have been like “so glad Yung Grandpa is back!” I’m really surprised that people remembered and enjoyed it!  I got really lucky with the lyrics coming together, I feel like I raised the bar(s) for my rap game.  Thank you SO much, means a lot

So great to hear from you!  It was fun to incorporate part of our flag collection!  Thanks for your support, having a great family like WB is really inspirational.  Thanks for your commitment to your own amazing work!

I am SO EXCITED that people wanted/demanded  YG!  I actually love Will Smith and love “clean” rap, so that’s a huge compliment.  Also, who the heck doesn’t love the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air intro?  Literally got millions of people rapping along!
