Horseback Rider

This took a little bit over 8 hours total to create. I set out to write a different type of song and these ideas "found" me. This uses a lot of the methodology that I learned from "Royal Traveller". A linear song with separate parts that continually adding on, using breakdowns and EQ dropouts to keep the arrangement and sonic spectrum interesting. On my track "In My Mind", Tone Matrix left a comment that my EQ sweep "revitalized the track". I really like that way of putting it.
I don't know if there is too much limiting on the second half of the track, once it gets louder. Maybe I need to remix it? Not sure, and would love some feedback on the mixing/mastering. I did a lot of EQ cuts to make spaces for the bass and drums and other guitar pieces. The slide guitar comes in HOT, but I liked the idea that it kind of took the lid off the piece. Kind of like the horse just cutting loose and running at full speed.
I called this Horseback Rider because it had a kind of epic adventure feel to me, and I saw all these rustic mountainous landscapes in my mind. There also was an element of triumph as the piece concludes. This is my longest WB ever! 6:58! Hope you guys don't get bored. I am so self-conscious of track length. Weird!
I've been really busy and stressed out the past few months. Thanks for those who gave some career advice. I feel like deep down in my heart, I can achieve my goals and make my dreams come true. I do believe that. I had a vision of myself on stage, performing this song, with 3 other band members, to a very excited audience. I feel like it is destined to happen. The main thing for me is to just keep climbing this mountain, one step at a time and not give up. I think ultimately that is what this song is about for me. Music is like my trusty horse, always there for me, always giving back more than what I give. Neither of us can climb this mountain by ourselves, but we can do it together.
Thanks to the WB family, I will get back to all the comments one of these decades! Thanks for making music, even if you hate it, even if it was out of obligation, we gotta keep moving forward and keep the faith!
I can't believe I actually found a picture of Derek Jacobi on horseback!
