Love the slow down around half way through, and love how you mess with the time signature, putting those double accents to force the beat into a different time.
Ah, just watched your video also, so now I see the times. Very cool!
Man... that really messed with my head (in a good way). I could really feel how Pyramid Song ignited your idea but the result turned out to be something entirely different and authentic! Btw 6:19 it really looks like you're worshiping the OP-1 lol. Fire beat.
Lol nice. When I saw the song title my first thought was "hmm, I wonder if that song I showed him recently stuck in his mind or something" and then YESSS. haha. Super into this beat, I'm a sucker for weird/fun/tricky rhythms That synth patch is super cool too, has an awesome texture and cool chordal sound to it (assuming you stacked some pitched oscillators to form chords?)
Really love how the chord stabs interact with the beat. And now I don't even have to dig deep to figure it out, thanks to Professor Orange explaining it to me.
This song is too good for both horizontal and vertical stripes.

I've always enjoyed the off-kilter feel of Pyramid Song, and this for sure has some of the same feeling, while also being totally different. I liked the way you explained the process and could totally see you having a web series or podcast where you talk about various production/composing techniques, demonstrate instruments, and just provide general cool music related information.
That distinctive chromatic motif is very diagonal sounding I also like when the note comes sooner than you expect B)
Yay Pyramid Song! (Also, yay ViridianLoom!)
This nails the goal of a mysterious chord prog with an off-kilter rhythmic feel. Very effective use of syncopation here: even though the pattern is steady and consistent, it's off-beat enough that it redirects attention away from the time signature and back to the explorative nature of the chord sequence. Really cool stuff. And that synth lead pitch-bending with the motion controller is just awesome!
For the Q&A: What are your favorite Orange Drink tracks you've written for WeeklyBeats?
haha, Frank said "to hell with these tricky rhythms!"
love Pyramid Song, love Diagonal Stripe, love Orange Drink, all love
for Q&A: on theme, which Orange Drink scheme/idea that involved Frank got the most pushback from him? if any! he seems like such a good sport, but i can imagine a late night, "hey Frank, can you come down to the basement and ________" could eventually push his buttons
love the chord progression and the visual cues to feel them even more. Also, also! I think I may have asked a question back then about ableton.. maybe how your recording process goes using it.. or mayhaps you have a particular audio effect in it or whatnot that you always reach for?
Best orange drink song everrrrr! I thought it was super good 👍
Hell yeahhhh, love the weirdness of this beat. Always keeps me on my toes! Nice work!
