Point of Rocks

By onezero on November 20, 2022 10:47 pm

Still mining the one-guitar thing. The more satisfying bits of this came together first, late Friday, and then I worked around it Saturday evening, with sparser sections. I'd wanted to have this coalesce together, rather than start with a hook...but that may have been the wrong decision. Once again, no effects, convolution reverb only, three tracks of PureSalem Mendiola.

The title comes from the Point of Rocks in Maryland, at eastern end of Route 464.

wow, the sparseness makes this so beautiful.  isn't that tough to time things together with so much space, or did you have a metronome?

really well done.

Thank you! For this one, I was recording with a click. And also recording the parts against the other parts, so the counterpoint would work.

it's a magical feeling with so much space, it's surprising when things come together seamlessly.

Man, I'm really loving this, really feels nice in my mind (and goes well with fresh air), you can probably mine this some more
