Coastal

Quite a life-intense week, but I've carved out time for a guitar-only track (one late-night session Friday, one late-night session Saturday, and one bit added Sunday afternoon). $60 Univox hollowbody in Bb F Bb F Bb C (a variation of Fahey C tuning), straight into the UA Volt-1. There's large-chamber convolution reverb on each track, and the usual eq/compression on the stereo out.

This is mostly three tracks, but there was something lacking in the low end at 0:48 and 2:00, so I added a chordal line. Nearly all of the chords are straight barre on a few strings, though a few may be completely straight across the neck.

The title comes from the name of Maryland's route 528, Coastal Highway.

Wow. The moment the track started I knew I was going to click into this one and comment. It sounds so crisp and clean and the guitar tone is beautiful and sad and makes me feel this melancholy, which is my favorite kind of music.

Really love this, makes me so badly want to keep working on my guitar skills so I can one day do something like this, which is the highest form of compliment I can give something.

Fantastic and dreamy guitarsounds. Love it.

Turned out fantastic… beautiful track.

A calm and measured train of thought, from beginning to end.

I hope this week is less life-intense for you (or if it is, that it's something good)

pretty (and sad, in an uplifting way?) as a picture. it's interesting to me how different these pieces feel from your weekly snwv offerings, yet they all still feel like you. and that's a good thing. thank you, friend

I wonder how long it takes before you can name a tuning after yourself. I've looked up yours and I haven't seen it mentioned yet (nor mine).
I enjoy chilling in this lower register though.

Peaceful and comptemplative. I could listen to music like this for hours for focus, thank you.
