saguaro bloom

By offbrand on August 7, 2022 7:39 am

on friday, i saw before work that the flowers on the cacti* in my front yard had bloomed. when i came home that evening they had already withered and one of the cacti had fallen over, snapped near the base

*the cacti are not saguaros, but "saguaro bloom" sounded like a better title than "mexican fencepost bloom"

Came for the saguaro, stayed for the mexican fencepost. What is that percussive element in the second half, sounds like a lighter being flicked (hits on the 3). Ooh wow that buildup at the end was … shiny!! Felt really powerful. Good stuff.

this is so so nice.  such a pretty progression, wonderful buildup and layering to the end.
i really wanted it to keep going.. (perhaps into a contrastingly mellow/deep/rhythmic/dry/close sound, that builds back up into the wide shimmery texture)
