Steamroller

By Tom Foolery on August 7, 2022 7:26 am

I DID IT! I wrote a song with words instead of putting it off again.
The words don't make much sense, and it was pretty much all done in one take per part so it's pretty rough around the edges. But BOY does it feel good to just hammer a song out.
Busy weekend. Put parts on new bike (a Surly Steamroller, hence the title), did a lovely walk in Yarra Bend Park, went to 2 libraries and got library cards from both (one for access to the makerspace which is incredible!), and some time spent with friends! I also looked after Zaza the cat again this weekend which has been joy of joys as per usual.

I know the vocal take is pretty average in terms of pitch, rhythm, all the musical things, but for once I don't dislike the tone of my voice which is rare. This will probably pass.

Anyway, enjoy.

good

Ya, the voice is perfect! No worries about pitch, feels like portamento: seems ideal to me for this track(intensely urban yet still relaxed and down-to-earth). And the song progresses through such an intense rush, it's got this slight darker edge to it too, every move you made here is ace!

Congrats, and it's a banger to boot. You've got my approval.

Thank you all for the kind words, it is great to hear positive feedback on such music that I have not normally shared in the past!
