Slammed Over 3000 Times

By Nyarlos on February 25, 2024 9:05 pm

Pushing it a little this week, feel like bring the nasty, so some good old fashioned slam death metal. The whole slam genre was pretty much started from one place, the Suffocation song "Liege of Inveracity", which quite a few people heard and said, yep that's my whole style now. And Suffocation were a big fan of the Peavey XXX, and the modern version of that is the amp I brought today, the Peavey 3120.
The most useful of amps to a extreme metal guy, because instead of clean, crunch lead channel setup, the 2 gain channels are effectively identical, so we can have total brutality on channel two, and then channel 3 can be total brutality, just a little louder lol

Wanted to make sure the guitars were crushing, and pushed my poor drum program to some fairly silly tempos, hope it translate to other speaker systems well, cause didn't have time to check, this kind of mix is so damn dense its hard to master honestly.

Oh, and the only thing I purposefully left unlike all the slam bands is in standard tuning, just because I prefer it lol

heavy AF, these riffs go hard. Also great title

Nice one. Drums vs Guitars works good on my earbuds, guitars could probably be a bit louder? I actually quite like the tone, even if very gainy, it is not that "ice pick" hi-mid agressive... Yeah the solo goes a bit there, but it is fine it has to cut right?

Again, you shread man.

absolutely love this sound. Drums are irrevocably lit

Before reading the description, I thought "classic death metal".  Great stuff!

Oh yeah that track is brutal. The guitar sound is perfect. The snares sound like a machine gun. That bass toone from 2:12, such good low end against the rest of the guitar (it was probably there all along but it's easier to hear without the drums). Great extreme metal track, digging that.

loved this! sick track, congrats. favorited

Yea, the drums really don't feel right on headphone during the busy parts. Indeed like a machine gun, but with a floppy barrel.
Sweet guitar sound though.
