Bastards of Brooklyn

By NWSPR on January 14, 2018 11:50 pm

A good friend of mine down in Philly was recording drum tracks for a synth wave band and sent me his rough tracks... "do something with these" he says, so I slathered on lots of symphonic pop stuff all hand played, layered in individual tracks from the KingKorg. Vocoder is from the KingKorg as well.  Oh yeah, also Gibson Ripper bass guitar was the first on top of the drums.

Special Thanks to Joseph Livingston on drums! If I had just stopped with his track, I probably could do no better.

Good work! I like the vocoder

And do something with it you did.

really precise hand-playing, gives a nice organic sound to the piece over the drumming. feel like i'm listening to the intro of a show about a bunch of robots living in brooklyn.

fun track wink

I'm getting a great ELO vibe. Love this!

Really nice work!

Moody and groovy and optimistic in a way. Cool, fav. smile

Nice vibe, triumphant yet sort of melancholic? Cool piano glissandos smile

Wow, I was going to say the same thing!  I think because it is so upbeat and rocking, and then there is the synth + horns kind of idea going on.  Rad collaboration!

I think Jeff Line would surely approve smile
