Un wagon

By Nueli on March 29, 2026 7:01 pm

(Un wagon c'est un morceau de train non ?)

This track was made in the train, using samples from around me in the train: the overall ambiance, a bin, an armrest scratch, the nice "ding" from my water bottle, etc (except the bass). So around 2 hours of work in total, in two sessions. And it was fun! Constraints do help break the monotony.

Love the filter dip around 0:35. There's something about travel samples that makes them fit really nicely into a song. The reverb on the ding is super nice on top of the other textures too!

Great sounds on this! It's just like you said, there is something interesting about connecting music to a particular place; I want to keep exploring

Oh punaise mais ça sonne trop bien avec les samples du train, je trouve que ça donne une ambiance top. Ça fait presque musique de film. Excellent, je vais jeter un coup d’oeil (d’oreille?) aux prochaines compos!

Lovely work, super clean mix too!

right there with you. bookmarking to listen later with headphones.
cheers!

Thank you! I struggled to find something with a tonal element around me, until I took my water bottle out smile
