Hecate

By NeonRebar on February 28, 2026 2:10 pm

I found some free samples on Song Athletics (not an endorsement) and one of them was called Hecate. After noodling around for a bit I moved on to something else but decided to name this after the sample.
Hecate was/is the goddess of magic and witchcraft.

Not sure which sample is "Hecate," but the whole track grooves like a B0$$.

Great sound - this sounds like mostly live playing. Very chill but groovy.
also, tag game on point. Now I want to plant some red cedars

Yes. You can find free red cedars just about everywhere if you're in a typical temperate zone (Chicago in my case). Mine are about 15ft tall now. Fast. Dig up a small one and plant it where you want to block wind, snipers, voyeurs or what have you. Also, small birds love em when the raptors show up.

Huh, learned something new today. Strong Greek myth rock vibes here! In my head this track is the precursor to you collab’ing and rocking out with Darren Korb. big_smile

awesome stuff on the strings
