NOT YOUR DEVIL

More bonkers, and I was about to say more "bonkers low end" to paraphrase JWH, but to be honest I didn't even do much of a check on the low end ... it's mixed ... it's bonkers.

This is more sorta-electronica exploration, with a little more lean into NIN and ... something else. NIN era would be firmly Year Zero, I think. All I'm missing is a Sherman Filter Bank.

Started with the Pulsar-23 recording a solo-performance - the patch this week was complicated and messy but allowed me to extract the Delay/Reverb from the pulsar as a stereo pair and fuck with that quite a bit with performative-knob-fuckery, which I will admit - way too goddamn fun. I am hoping you can hear the fun.

Recorded a 9 minute performance take, dragged the recordings into the DAW, sliced, diced, mixed and messed around, then introduced the other elements - some heavy industrial percussion, synths, FX, general bonkers fucking around.

What the fuck is this genre? I don't know.

Effectively ran out of time for some bigger plans - the ending is questionable in terms of being dj-friendly, originally there was something of a 'third drop', and vocals are something I wanted to work into this one in terms of both lyrics and foley, but that will come with a future project. I think I will keep working on this for a couple weeks though, get some vocals in there, because I think this could definitely become a touchstone track for a whole EP or album.

This was a very fun and challenging learning-experience working with a track that is very percussion first-and-forward. Adding elements was very much an equal exercise in "taking away" - and I probably didn't take away enough, admittedly. Either way, fun was had, beats were made, and I apologize to your lovely ears.

yikes
def feels the NIN:YZ vibes ala "Me I'm Not".  Love those lil panned out stutters that infiltrate the mix \m/ Excellent breather and buildup with the pulsing bass and airy pads. The percussion/drums are absolutely massive in this and I love it! 3:45 \m/ Feels like a Mech is laying waste to a city
yikes

The genre is a a fun bop. ready to daydream myself fighting in some smokey intergalactic shady bar.

Another week of compelling grit. I'm enjoying the different themes across multiple weeks.

great track, glorious sound design with all the texture and grit you could want. huge drums and bass and I love the little talkie squeaks.

Wow, look at you, jack of all trades-ing.
Is there something you can't do?!
Getting some flashes of Mouse On Mars' Retphase track from their Varcharz album (around the middle of their track) here and there.
Great work on sound design and arrangement, ear candies and all, it didn't feel like an almost 5 minute track, time just flew by!

Oh my god

Oh my god oh my god.

Huge and gritty and noisy and WTF and this is amazing. NIN flavor, sure, but this has a pulse that just slithers.

But…

Can, um, can I have the stems? Please?

I feel a VISCERAL NEED to add some crushing guitars to this, and maybe add a vocal. Was feeling it in my souls while listening.

I want to rip faces off. Please smile heart

You aint kidding on the low end, that shiz is beefy

This has got some definite industrial vibes.

Getting the NIN influence, but it's got a kind of slinky, filthy almost samba like shuffle. This is just wild and I love it.

I think it might be my fav thing of yours just a wall of crazyness.

wowza! what the heck is going on?? BONKERS i say!
love that higher register pinging kinda sound. reminded me a bit of some Missy Elliott   \m/
the ending wind down was so cool. almost felt like walking out of the warehouse and getting into a car that is driving away in the bleary morning light

Editing the edit. I should try this too great inspiration.

Oh I'm liking the breakdown.

I like that I don't know what to expect that is great.

Layers in the foreground and background, very prominent starkness

Jupp, this sounds like Doom/Quake kinda action. NAILed it.
