Feeling good about this week's submission. Thank you to everyone who listened and left comments over the last two weeks. I'm feeling a lot more comfortable in renoise this week and felt like I was able to be a bit more expressive. Still using renoise and the behringer neutron for all the sound design.

I was very sick last week but I am feeling more recovered this week. My ears are still plugged up from being sick though, hopefully they will also recover soon too. It has been a little odd doing music without perfect hearing but many people do it.

Sample is from this recent NASA spacewalk:

Spacewalk with Astronauts Steve Bowen and Woody Hoburg (June 9, 2023) (Official NASA Broadcast)
Thank you to sleepunit/@jbarket for finding it!

The second the break starts, just raaaaaaargh. Love the spacey/floaty contrast to the drums. That feeling of just floating along but also rushing is great.

The addition samples are perfect too. I tried for a bit and even after spending the time cutting up 3 hours of audio, dropped all but the original. You found great ones to compliment

That break is sick! Great job. smile

Love the ambience and chill sparse vibe without much bass going on, really lets the synth soak in.

nice slammin breaks

Very creative use of the NASA sample and I really like the drum breaks. Actually, I’m pretending in my mind that the drum sounds came from a drummer in the space station lol

Glad you're feeling better! I was hoping we'd see a NASA flip this week, you delivered! Great breaks and I love the "sounds good" laugh sample.

I'm seeing quite a bit of NASA sampling around, I need to get on that bandwagon!

Great drum breaks and a nice fat, but floaty sub!

Very cool breaks and a nice offset to the bleeps and bloops of the Neutron.  Cool hearing your progress with the tracker too!

Oh, this is a lot of fun. I like this a lot. I welcome our new NASA spacepunk future.

Super nice beats! Listened to this first without having read the context of the samples, kind of interesting what i does to the music imagining the space walk. Good job painting the picture! They seem very casual about floating around in space.

fire

This has the Orbish fluffy clouds feel to me. I like it a lot and your breaks bring my passion for drum and bass back. Thanks.

ah cool I haven’t used renoise but it looks amazing!  I always love break mangling. Nice job bringing the break in and out to create some tension and release.

lets goooo, giving renoise a nice workout here. the flanger(?) use on the breaks around 1:30 is great.

Thank you thank you! it was really fun working with the sample, i'm looking forward to more of it. I really enjoyed your track this week as well, also very creative use of the sample.

Thanks, i appreciate your comment. I tried other bass but the simple one seemed to work best.

I love this image. I wonder if people listen to breaks in space and if not, they should. Thanks for the comment!

thanks, Holzter! renoise is really well built for break mangling so if you are interested i would recommend it.

Thank you, Nullsleep! I really appreciate it. For the flanger i just doubled the slice and put a 20 delay on the second, simple and big control. I'm really impressed you heard that, thanks for the close listen!

Oh!!! very good use of the sample. I like a bit of humor so the medi pump, whatever it is, tickled my funnybone. I do appreciate short tracks on here. This one is fairly dense, a lot you could expand on. I can see this turning into an epic Little Fluffy Clouds saga, per Q-Rosh, if you just longer-ed it and added a lead-ier synth. If I heard this at a space exploration themed rave I would freak out to at least 3 medi-pump breaks before falling over.

I can really hear you leveling up with Renoise!

This is a great idea thank you. I also prefer short tracks so i'm glad to hear that you think it can be expanded. Thank you for the thoughtful listen and comment, i really appreciate it.

thank you, license! I'm still having fun with it too

Cool use of samples! Love the way the intro flows into the beat so naturally.

Interesting! I love the mix of different rhythms. The fast drum reminds me a bit about Venetian Snares music
