VOYAGE

By mzunguko on January 11, 2026 10:26 pm

Wow, hard to believe a week went by, how fast I forget how fast things go by. I still haven't found a good recording workflow. I got this down to 4 stereo tracks, the modular for bass, routing guitar through the digitact for sampling and the vox, the access virus for a pad and the TR1000. I would love to have more time to get the mix right, the stereo image is not what I wanted, but a I have inherited a new stray Malinois and if you know anything about those dogs you know what my week has been like. This week is dedicated to Pix, a what we believe is a 7 year old once flea ridden and abandoned that has found a new home full of love. She must have been on quite a voyage to arrive on my doorstep.

I really enjoyed listening to all the tracks last week, can't wait to get to your new entries.

Congrats on the new dog!  I know integrating them into the home can be a time consuming process.  There's a raw quality to the guitar sounds here and I like the way they kind of float in the air while the bass and drums hit a cool groove underneath.  And there's something that sort of sounds like a flute poking through that's righteous as well.  I get a good sense of space from this.  Nice work.

New puppo! That's so wonderful, dogs are the best family.
The guitars sound great and everything sits and floats so smoothly. Super chill track.

PIX heart

love the guitar floating over that crunchy rhythm section, such a great vibe!

Love the slow transition and the amazing layers

I've heard those pups can be quite malanaughty, hahahaha... Joking aside, it warms my heart that you've been able to welcome her into your home. Also, please post photos of Pix! I bet she's real cute ❤️
Now, about the song: the guitar here really shines, this is awesome! So vibey, you're able to conjure such a particular energy and vibe. Ethereal, ghostly and entrancing. I love it!

This has been a dream voyage, hasn’t it? Such dreamy sounds, quite interesting how it is the airy guitar that holds everything together.
What I loved most was how the vocal samples were barely audible but still stood out clearly from the mix, and their very light but crisp processing. I wish I was able to do that!

Really cool dreamy vibe. We all secretly want a pic of Pix.

Agree with previous comments - the vibes are amazing.

I especially dig the pocket, everything is playing well together. Tasty groove

It does move at a pretty fast clip right?  I said in my track description for this week, "2 down and only 50 to go" and I really meant that in the sense of "50 is only but a precious few", the will slip by too quick to be sure.

I love the vocal samples in this track... totally hypnotic.

Congrats and good luck with the dog! Keep us updated on how Pix gets along in her new home.

I’m diggin’ the track!

love how the guitars melt into the synth and drums.  Such a chill vibe throughout.  Well done! Yay for Pix!! I didn't realize you have an Access Virus.  Which model is it?  I need to use my C more.

Great beat. Feels like a city waking up.

Very cool vibe in this one, really different from the usual beats too, I dig it a lot!

I put a picture in the discord, it was crazy she just showed up in my back yard that is fenced, she now is living the rest of her life truly pampered and is adjusting. I don't think she was ever in a house.

Thanks, our previous dog had recently passed, and I was ready to take a break, but she just showed up, one trip to the vet to see if she was chipped, called around to some rescues but she attached pretty fast so here we are.

Thank you, finding guitar tone is a never ending quest, but the journey has been a blast so far. I only wish I started many years ago!

Malinuts, lucky for us she is an older girl, looks like she was bred out a dumped, lucky for her she landed in our backyard, now she is living like a queen. Chords are breaking my chubby fingers, but we are staying with it. Thanks again for taking a listen.

Sick groove, full of life.

Where are the dog pics?!!! (Bonus points if the dog’s getting hugs and or boops, I kinda find pics of dogs sitting by themselves hella unrealistic!)

Beat’s great, the bright chords are so clean sounding—really nice floating type vibe. Good new dog music, if I had a tail I’d wag at this.

This is very pretty

This week the drums gel with the rest very well. In fact, everything here is wonderfully intertwined. Very pleasant and well executed!

I posted a pic on the Discord, she is still getting settled, she is an older girl living the life now!

I am still finding my way with getting all of this live guitar recorded and mixed, everything is a bit rushed at the end, hopefully in a few weeks I will have a workflow that I like.

I like that bass line a lot. The shimmery guitars on top is a real nice touch! Really dig the mysterious vibe of this one.

Really nice guitar tones
