TUMBLE

Tumbling on down the road, like a dried piece of brush it feels like some weeks. They blend together in an odd way for me, between work and music, where I long for the day I am left with only the music. I feel like I haven't really settled into the creative groove that I desire quite yet, just working on not trying to force it, I think the drums have a nice push pull funkiness to them and found some nice perc sounds in the TR1000 default library.

I truly appreciate all your kind comments!

This started with a very basic drum groove, I kept trying to find the right samples in the huge library on the TR1000, I got some patterns I liked, but that took a bunch of searching to find the sound I was looking for (all the way to early Sunday). I swapped the Perkons for the Vermona Perfourma and the bass was born (also double duty on the arps, 2 channels for bass and 2 for the arps).

Time for some guitars, lots of tone searching on this one as well as some re-sampling on the octatrack.

Found a great vocal patch on Splice to add some interest and finish out the piece.

Hope you enjoy!

All the elements are combining nicely on this one.  The vocal sample is a particularly good touch.  I'm definitely feeling good vibes coming off of this.

Drums sound great especially on those intricate fills.  The vocals give the groove an added laid back vibe. Well done!

Super groove track.  So easy to get lost in... very much the vibe I needed this week, thank you.

The vocals are definitely a good find for this.

Oh this is very groovy. Portishead vibes off the hop.

So nice, nodding my head. Great groove. All elements sounds great. Tasty.
Here's to the day when it is just music!

Thank you so much for stopping by. Its been a really hectic week and I haven't had much chance to focus on music at all. I feel like I am sleep walking where everyday isn't bringing me any closer to my goals. While this track came together nicely (had the concept from beginning to end), I don't know how many times I have started and stopped this week. I do hope to dig deeper into the TR1000 as I certainly feel like I am just scratching the surface. The guitar is ... well lets just say a struggle. Trying to break out of what I can play vs what I want to play, but we get to see this "live". I certainly hope that I like the end of year progress as it certainly is a painful process, but your encouragement is such a blessing, thank you again. Who says an old dog can't learn new tricks!
