MOVING

By mzunguko on May 12, 2024 9:15 pm

A little four to the floor never hurt anyone. Started this week with a very simple bass line and some drums. Didn't really have much of a plan, this one just came about thinking about watching a time lapse at high speed of a future metropolis.

I hope everyone had a great week, thanks for listening.

I didn't really have a ton of time to get the mix where I wanted it, but hey its weekly beats and there is always next week!

Does a body good (especially on the dance floor)!! smile

This one really evolves. The change around 1:30 really got me movin' and loved 2:25... and 2:45... and 3:00... damn what a banger. Didn't hear a damn thing wrong with the mix.

Love the sound of that delayed percussive pad as it envelops the thick bassline.  The above gif def hit the feel of this track.  A night drive on the highway would be perfect for this head nodder.  Suhweet intricate rhythm with such a tight feel to it.  That snare punches right thru.  Nice work!

Nice propulsive energy to this.  I liked the mental image you provided of a futuristic city spreading out or possibly whizzing by as in the gif above.  I for sure get that sort of vibe strongly.

this is really fun, nice one!

really great in headphones, mzunguko

That sample/sound texture that opened the track caught my ear. I am not sure what it is but i sounded cool. The dark section from 1:40 with the dark bass was sick. Not over the top, keeping things subtle but then bringing in the pulse. At 4:30, it feels like we're out of the cyberpunk city and the sky is opening, or maybe the sun is rising. That track was a beautiful synthwave journey.

I love drum programming, I have way to many things to do drums this track used a bunch, different areas of the city have a different vibe seen through the first person.

That opening synth is a modified patch from NI Playbox "Boarding School", and some EchoBoy. There are so many ways to use that as a sound design tool lots of great sample textures.
