Bound by their Flesh

By Lukayu on May 12, 2024 9:19 pm

Tried to go heavier then last week. haha. Been having so much fun writing these past few weeks. This one I tried some different stuff with the vocals. Wrote some more chuggy riffs. Trying to play more guitar so its not always chugs but for now, this will do haha. Buddy of mine lent me his bass too so finally got to play with that a bit on this track. Still trying to get my drums set up right. Just need more time on that. Wife helped me with the lyrics again of course. She's just so good at it! Also used a piano with the Final Boss plugin for the intro and outro electricity noises.

Again, this is a song tied lyrically to Warcraft. There are quite a lot of dark stories and one of them is about an abomination called Thaddius. He was pieced together from the flesh and souls of innocent women and children. Brutal eh?

Lyrics

Bound by their flesh
My soul reverberates their cries
I cannot run
Fused together for all of time

Forever wishing
For someone to grant me peace
I cannot help
What he made me to be

Electricity
runs through my viens
It arcs around me
They are binding my chains

Polarity shift
You've done it now
Killer instinct
Will beat you down

(You are to late. I...must....obey)

A constant battle
wages within me
Do I fight this battle
or Simply let them win

I do not wish
To go on

Berserker enrage wells inside of me
My power rises
Yet my will falls
The hope ending torment is closer now than ever before

It would seem my fate was cemented long ago
When Naxxramas sealed those poor souls

(…thank you)

Im windmilling i promise. Banger!

Dude this is awesome! I really liked the abrupt transition from the calm to the heavy part. Really took me by surprise! Your death metal vocals are absolutely brutal! I'm really enjoying all this heavy death metal you are making!

Thanks guys! Really having fun writing this stuff haha

God DAMN!!! Fucking brutal. I was trying to figure out the time signature in the beginning but I think it's just a proggy sounding 4/4, haha. Between last week's song and this one, you're tapping deep into your metal side. Super exciting stuff my guy.

Couple more notes, I dig the death and black metal vocal styles and I also dug the way the track opens and closes. That noise synth with that little harp sound is super cool sounding. What was the harp instrument?

Haha yep 4/4 and the harp noise is the Ronan drum VST hung setting with one of the drum parts used for that part. Thanks homie!

Oh wow death metal on weekly beats. Those growls are classic. Excellent work. I love the section from 1:55 with the pinched harmonic and the chunky riffs!

Thanks! The death metal stuff has been fun, may bring it down a bit this coming week and try something else but I do have a blast writing this kinda stuff!
