ALL FEEDBACK ON SONG / PERFORMANCE / TRACK / RECORDING / MIX etc. is welcome and appreciated!

Log Week 1

Influences:
Mike - Snake Chain - vocals.
Love the pure shriek unhinged nature of it.
Also loving Kate Moss from Scowl these days, she’s a total badass babe. Two women showing how it's done.

Recording:
Cool to spend time on a track. This was one I was working on last year. I'll finish up a few more from last year this and you'll see them going up on my prof.

WWW
Listening to bounces on my phone whilst out and about and making notes.

EBI
Not sure Good start.

Skill gained:
Learnt how to automate

Track notes:
Would like to record intro rhythm guitar better.
More variation on rhythm of gang bridge 2nd half vocals. Something on the last one to mix it up I think would be cool
Vocals on chorus - something more melodic -  like a weird eerie line in there.
Maybe this track is jumping around all over the place too much? There is only one section that repeats.
I chopped the outro in half partly to keep it sub 3 mins but wondering if it would've been better with a bit more riff out?
Maybe fewer sections and simpler song structure?

-

For weekly beats this year, basically wanna keep showing up. Gonna use weekly beats as a practice ground and learn how to mix a bit this year and release an EP.

Good luck everyone.

Dig that chorus.  Rockin'  \m/

That middle section with the hand claps is deeeelightful! Love the energy! Glad you're back. Keep it up!

great opening riff!

great tune! Great energy!

YES! First scream was awesome! Cool composition, I think it's fairly consistent sounding, it's not necessarily bad that it changes a lot. There's no catchy bit that sticks to your brain, that could be the only downside.

The sound/mixing/mastering issue is tough since it's so loud, I have no idea how you could record it more cleanly and make it be even more impactful. Cause it sounds a bit muffled this way. But it's also quite cool, it has a dark muffled indie punk vibe. So worst case you could go with this style until you figure what you could do differently.

As for length: it feels like a good length because no part of it seems too long and boring. But if every song is in this style it can be an issue that everything is too adhd and changing too much and that becomes boring. So you just gotta feel it, and lean into it. If the sound feels like it should happen again, do it and see where it leads. Or find a good reason to make it longer or shorter. In lack of any reason go with the guts.

love this, great chorus (vocals in general), drums sound awesome. looking forward to hearing more!

Amazing punk, that is, barely comprehensible lyrics and awesome guitar.
- Spider
