Locked Up

By myfirstpunksong on March 27, 2022 9:32 pm

With a trip to London and seeing friends and then mothers day knew I wouldn't have much time to work on this. Early on decided to pull out an old idea from lockdown last year and use that. Added some (out of tune/sloppy) guitars near the end on Sunday eve.

What went well:
- Jammed in the sunshine on Monday.
- Got inspo for on the road set up, good timing with the weather.

Ideas for future:
- Learn song on Mon /Tues. Start on WB Tues/Weds. Would like to learn more songs for inspo and to cultivate influences.
- Try to play the guitar every day that I can. Even if its directly working on stuff for WB.
- Keep a logbook with words, themes, lines and ideas that I like for lyrics. Start building a bank/collection for me to draw upon so I dont have to start from scratch and scramble when it comes to that.
- Try to come up with melodies (with/without words) before anything else. Build the song from there.
- Get on the travel and mobile set up ready to go so I can continue playing, jamming and recording when I hit the road and enjoy being outside.
- Return to and/or write a new song about travelling so I have my own travel tune. Viajero / Explorer / Traveller, something like that.

Time for bed. If I remember anything else I'll add in the comments. Peace!

So cool to hear you branching out into new territory these past couple of weeks! What is that warble you've got going on on the bass? Cool effect. Adds some spice. I have some travel upcoming this summer and I'm also a little concerned about how I'm going to make WB happen. Make sure to report back how it goes. Safe travels!

Thanks. The bass was actually recorded on guitar and then octave'd down. The warble thing I think you're talking about is a slide all the way up to hit same note on the same string but an octave higher.

Yeah, I  think I'm going to try and get the necessary cables and adapters and figure out how to record on to my phone! Let's see how that goes, but certainly will put anything I learn in the report smile

Not a lot of energy in that voice, but the guitar is so chill.
